It completely bowled me over...I couldn't believe how beautifully it was painted...and despite my parents saying it was 'old hat' and just Victorian drama! I'm now 60 and, from that first exposure to Pre-Raphaelite art, I have been a lifelong addict of their work. It has also led me to love the work of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. I believe these two movements have shaped much of our current taste and understanding of beauty and good design. Thank you Manchester for lighting this flame for me.
